Plant Care Sheets

Texas Triffid Ranch

One of the biggest aggravations with buying plants from most retail establishments is that the instructions for their care are far too rudimentary. Most plants come with bare basic light and temperature requirements, along with USDA Zone recommendations that are increasingly undependable, especially in particular microclimates where temperatures are much higher or lower than the surrounding area.  Most plant tags rarely include humidity, fertilizing guidelines, proper care before and after flowering, or native habitat.  These may not affect the plant's care right away, but this information may keep the plant in optimal health.  This is particularly difficult when trying to get information on carnivorous, prehistoric, or other exotic plants, as much of the information available to the public is either obsolete or just plain wrong.

This is why the Texas Triffid Ranch offers Plant Care Sheets to assist with keeping your plant healthy and happy after its purchase.  The Plant Care Sheets are based on personal experience with each of the varieties and species of plant sold through the Triffid Ranch, and are offered in good faith as a resource for anyone seeking to keep their plant alive, whether or not the plant was purchased through the Triffid Ranch.  As the Triffid Ranch expands its cast of flora, the number of Plant Care Sheets will increase, and the Plant Care Sheets will be updated on a regular basis to reflect improved care techniques and information.  All are available in PDF format for free download (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader), or in print form with each plant sold.
