At this time, as explained below, the Triffid Ranch does not offer sales of plants other than local delivery within the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex or at shows in which the Triffid Ranch is in attendance. On a regular basis, we're contacted by individuals who want to come by to see the plants in person, and who get upset that the mailing address listed in the Contact section is for a mail drop. Aside from liability issues, the main reason why we don't have a physical store is that the money and time spent on a brick-and-mortar storefront is better spent on growing excellent specimens and building superior arrangements. Besides, in addition to shows, we also make deliveries within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex under certain situations, such as for holiday purchases. Again, just ask.
Many carnivorous plant nurseries sell their plants online, and we'd be glad to recommend highly professional and prompt nurseries that can take care of your purchases without having to come to Dallas/Fort Worth. The reason why we don't sell plants online is because then we can grow them to larger sizes than what are normally capable of being shipped without damage to the plant. Once you've seen one of our Sarracenia or Nepenthes with full-sized pitchers, or one of our many arrangements of other carnivores in hard-to-ship containers, you'll understand why we prefer not to ship these plants and risk their loss or damage in transit. We understand the inconvenience of coming out to a show or event, and we try to make it worth the trouble.
